Meeting Agendas
Meeting Minutes

To implement the new legal requirements as a result of the passage of Proposition 69 (2004), CCJCC established the DNA Task Force as a subcommittee. The DNA Task Force is comprised of representatives from Los Angeles Police Department, Sheriffs Department, Los Angeles County Police Chiefs Association, Public Defender, Los Angeles City Attorney, Los Angeles Superior Court Presiding Judge, California Attorney General, Probation Department, Information Systems Advisory Body, Chief Administrative Officer, Auditor-Controller and is chaired by the District Attorney.

The Subcommittee will coordinate countywide efforts to implement Proposition 69, which calls for the collection of DNA samples from all convicted felons, and from adults and juveniles arrested for or charged with specified crimes, and submission to state DNA database; and; in five years, for DNA samples from adults arrested for or charged with any felony. Proposition 69 further authorizes local law enforcement laboratories to perform analyses for state database and maintain local database and specifies procedures for confidentiality and removing samples from databases.
